One just went for $28 on eBay: 08-09 BAP RC Antii Niemi /99
I thought its weird 100 dollars for Niemi. Even if it is out of 99.

One thing I love about eBay in the off season of hockey (summer) is that you can get some great deals on hockey cards! I know a lot of people don't like Beckett because they feel the prices are inflated - and/or hate eBay because of how undervalued cards are (although some cards go for far more then BV on ebay).
I've always viewed ebay as a secondary market - primary being sports card stores which is where beckett used to (I dont know about now or if they take eBay into account as well) get pricing from to determine what to put in their price lists. I've always felt card stores charge too much for sports cards singles (25-50cents or more for a common, cmon!) which I understand because of the huge overhead of having to keep a store open. I never buy singles, only boxes from card shops, unless it's off of a sale table.
I collect hockey cards because I enjoy it and and although it's nice to know I can get some money back if I were to sell my cards, I don't see the hobby as an investment. Because I only have limited funds, I buy hobby boxes from hobby stores, certain blaster boxes from retail stores and singles off of eBay.
