What are peoples thoughts on this rental player business? I'm a bit torn. If I look at this as being someone who could be "rented" out from my previous employer for a job somewhere else that'll teach me more or pay me more money, then I'd of course be all for it. I guess what I'm saying is that it can happen in other industries, why not hockey?
I don't like the idea of stacking teams for the playoffs and hope that with the new salary cap, this won't happen. BUT, there are also teams who i think are being rather sneaky about "hiding" players salaries on the LTIR list.
Rental Players = yay or nay?

I think teams should be allowed to get players for the playoffs. I can remember us being able to pickup players before tournaments and heading to provincials and nationals. There was of course rules they had to follow to allow this to happen.
Hockey is a business. I think any business should hold themselves accountable for their actions. Whether thats what potentially can happen when offer sheets are given or spending money on these rental players.

Has there ever been a pickup at the deadline that has actually made an impact on their team in the run for the playoffs? I don't think there has been and it's what they've been reporting.
